After Selling a CD, Do You Delete the Rips?

I do find I'm inclined to hang onto a rip if I liked one song. Not sure why I have to keep the rest of the album though. Just having a folder of random songs just seems wrong to me.

I voted yes. If I take a CD out of my collection, I don't plan on listening to it anymore. So, the rips in iTunes go away, too.

I'll never admit it, but I probably have hoarder tendencies. Normally I deleted extraneous crap due to lack of space (same goes with physical copies). I have a 6 TB drive on this thing (plus another 2 TB drive as well), but I've barely scratched the capacity on them. I'm glad I quit downloading years ago (not like I ever really listened to any of that crap anyway).

Exactly. If it meant nothing to you enough to want to cull it from your collection, then why keep the samples around? It would just be a waste of space.

I didn't but now that you've brought up the subject, I could do with saving some space on my hard drive now!

I have my collection split across two drives and I can't be arsed to merge the two. I'll probably end up purging some stuff, but I guess this is when I determine I want to get rid of an album period or not.

I have all my rips backed up to an external drive, and that's the one I should start cleaning house on because it is getting full.

I've never sold any CDs and I've only been ripping my newer purchases. Some of my older stuff though, if I were to get rid of it, I wouldn't look back.

I don't sell my CDs, whether I've ripped them or not.

Nowadays, I do delete the rips. I want the CDs to maintain some value in not being all over the web as much as possible. I don't need to keep what I don't listen to, and I stopped the whole piracy thing in the last few years.
