[Indie/Art Pop] In Show-Ha (印象派)
#1
Strongly post-punk/new-wave flavored modern J-pop. Similar to the band 3776, but not as progressively-oriented - this sounds like Television-style jangly post-punk with added electronic bloops and blorps. A nice middle ground between older-style J-pop and the modern electropop style, in a sense. Also, their name means "Impressionism" and their first EP is titled Nietzsche so you know they're not trying to do the usual pop thing.

Beam was kinda neat, I like it more than the other one. At any rate, I'll keep an eye on this band.

Space Shower Music seems to be a good channel to stalk.

After "previewing" *cough* their 3 CDs, I decided to order them. They seem neat.

I looooooove their sound but I'm still waiting for the full release that will convince me 100%. Usually the 'singles' are the best songs, my favorite being "Kirei". The chorus is just so perfect:

(Not) Nuclear Love (Or Affection) is probably their most consistent so far.

I need to play their stuff more, but I'm leaning towards AQ. Beam is probably their best song though - stupidly catchy lol

Sample of a new song released.

I'm hoping we can expect a new CD soon. The material from their last (Loveletter from Kamata) still isn't readily available.

I love them. They are from Osaka so I hope I'll be able to see them live in the future. I discovered them two years ago listening to Beam, but I don't remember how I discovered that song in the first place.

The preview of the new song doesn't reveal that much, so I'll wait for the entire track to judge it.

They're a rare instance where I discovered them from this forum. I probably would've assumed they were an idol group and gave them a miss otherwise (which would've been a grave error). They're pretty involved with the indie scene over there, I've noticed. They were on the same bill as Paranoid Void (one of my favorite bands) and have an upcoming gig with Yubisaki Nohaku (another one of my favorite bands). They did one with acd. (new band of Ecoystem's vocalist) recently as well.

They have a new PV in the works. I'm hoping we'll see a new MCD (or even an album) this year, they're long overdue.

Their vocalist/keyboardist Mica has a solo project called 103CA:

Not bad, but not really my thing.
