Lazy - Slow and Steady (December 6, 2017)
#1
Japanese rock legends Lazy will be releasing an single for the 40th anniversary of their debut in December. No title or tracklist as yet, but its up at Amazon.jp and Disk Union and here's a translation of the blurb there:

In 1977, 40 years since they made a brilliant debut as the youngest rock band in history. A leading trailblazer the anisong world, Kageyama Hironobu. A guitarist of the band LOUDNESS, Akira Takasaki who has gained overwhelming support in the world of hard rock. And with the keyboardist, Shunji Inoue, these three people are reunited here. For 40 years, the songs have weaved together the history of each of these three, who have always aimed for heights. Not only the anisong world, but the attention of the music world as a whole, will be on one of the greatest.

Interesting, they haven't done anything in quite a while just being super busy dudes. Will be interesting to see how this turns out. No Munetaka Higuchi on this one. Sad

Yeah if I'm not mistaking all the original members that are still alive are still involved.
If you can't get enough of me giving my opinions without having asked for it, you can read more of it on my Kevy Metal weblog.

Yeah, Akira Takasaki, Shunji Inoue and Hironobu Kageyama never quit the band, it's just been inactive a bunch of times.

2/10 album cover, band photos are one thing, but just take a random picture, slap a filter on it and add text is kinda lame. Tongue Kageyama's voice is still sounding good, I don't know if I like that song in particular going off of the sample, but I'm sure the other two are harder edged like more normal Lazy fare. Could be pretty decent as a whole.

So you're saying the album cover is rather ... lazy? How come no one made that obvious joke until now? Tongue

As for my actual reason for commenting, I had no idea they were on Lantis. I thought that was basically the otaku label lol. Isn't that out of place?

They're on Lantis I guess because they've been creating a few anime themes in their most recent discography. That and it's the label that their vocalist Hironobu Kageyama has been on for both his solo career and with JAM Project for quite some time, so it's likely convenient to put Lazy there too, since he's been a staple of the label.
