[Math Rock] té
#1
It seems like a bunch of the band's PVs have mysteriously disappeared on youtube (at least I can't find them anymore). Nevermind, I finally found them; they don't show up when I search for some reason though. Well they were blocked in America anyway, so maybe it's a good thing I have to work around it.

Anyways, these guys have been around for about a decade and play some pretty good instrumental post/math rock. Most post rock puts me to sleep, but they have pretty strong melodies and very good instrumental technique. They're also known for their absurdly long album titles and song names (I think they are all 30 characters each). Unfortunately, I don't have their latest EP yet, but I have all 6 of their albums and they are excellent. I suppose if I was more familiar with this scene I could namedrop some bands for comparison, but whatever have a listen for yourself.

Here's some of my favourites from their youtube channel.

Some other assorted ones.

The new(ish) EP is pretty solid. Unfortunately, I don't find it nearly as catchy as some of their other work. And it does kind of suck that they lost their longtime drummer, that dude was a beast. The drummer from choucho merged syrups guests on it, and he (or is it she?) does a pretty good job.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention this, but I did quite like their 2nd EP. Definitely a nice step up from their last one which I felt fell quite short of some of their other work.
